UKCAA visit 18th July 21

Retford MFC welcomed the annual visit of the UKCAA on the 18th July after last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

The weather was fantastic (too hot for me) the field was set up by 9am when UKCAA members started to arrive and were greeted with coffee and a bacon bap.

The event had the best ever support with 17 members present and one prospective new member, 14 flyers entered the pick 5 & 7. I believe this was one of the highest numbers entering at any event of the UKCAA.

After the pick 5 & 7 everyone including RMFC members had use to the barbeque Minty Morton & the clubs own Dave Noar overseeing proceedings. MMs apron caused quite a stir both on the field and internet!

Flying continued after lunch with the well supported raffle being held at 3pm.

By 4pm there were only 10 Retford members still flying as most visitors had a long trek home, London , Worcester, North Leeds, Manchester & Hull being some of the locations I can remember.

RMFC hope to see you all next July 22.

Thank you for a very entertaining days flying.

We had a pleasing number of emails congratulating members of Retford for their hospitality, kindness and  organising the event to such a high standard.
